How-To: Customize PDF Layout In Proposals

Customize how your proposal PDFs look in Cone with section controls, page breaks, and live preview—all from the editor

Updated over a week ago

How to access PDF customization settings

  1. Open any proposal in Cone

  2. Navigate to the right-hand toolbar

  3. Click on PDF Settings

This will open the customization panel, where you can begin defining how your document appears when exported

Available customization options

1. Start sections on a new page

Select specific sections to begin on a new page, helping you structure your proposal content clearly and professionally

2. Make a section to be its own page

Choose to make any section fill an entire page—regardless of its length. This gives it visual prominence and ensures it's not split across pages

3. Live preview

As you adjust settings, you can preview the updated PDF layout directly in the proposal editor. This way, you know exactly how your proposal will appear before sending it

4. Default layout

Prefer not to make changes? No problem. The default PDF layout is clean and professional:

  • A4 size

  • Sections flow one after another

  • No extra page breaks unless triggered
